Squishy Cat

Privacy Policy

Effective date: set at launch

Short version: Squishy Cat doesn't ask for your name, email, location, photos or contacts, has no accounts, and doesn't track you. If you write to us through our contact form, we use what you send only to reply. Your progress is saved on your device. The ad partner receives a small amount of technical information to show non-personalized, family-friendly ads.

This policy covers Squishy Cat (the "Game") by Backcountry Blueprints LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("we", "us").

1. What we collect

The Game collects no personal information. There are no accounts, logins, chat, or ways to share or upload content. The only time we receive personal information is if you choose to contact us (section 6). If you choose to send a bug report, we receive the technical details below, which don't identify you.

The Game saves your progress (flowers, cats, settings, purchases) on your device. (If iCloud saving is turned on in a future version: your progress is also stored in your own iCloud account by Apple, so it can follow you to a new device. We can't see it.)

New content and settings. When it opens, the Game checks our website (backcountryblueprintsapps.com, run for us by Cloudflare) for new things to play with, such as new cats, hats and events, and for updated game settings, and downloads them. Like any visit to a website, this means our host receives your device's internet (IP) address and basic technical details (such as the device type) so it can send the files. We don't use this to identify you, we don't combine it with anything else, and it isn't used for ads. Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Bug reports. Only if you tap Report a bug in Settings and choose what went wrong, the Game sends us: the kind of problem you picked, the Game's version, your device model and iOS version (such as "iPhone 16, iOS 26"), screen size and memory, a short summary of your progress (such as how many cats and flowers you have), and the Game's recent technical log. Before it's sent, the log is cleaned of folder names and anything that looks like an ID or email address. It does not include your name, your device's name, an advertising or device ID, or your location, and there is nowhere to type. Our host doesn't keep your IP address with the report. Reports are used only to fix problems and are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Reminders. If you say yes, the Game sets a few reminders on your device (for example, when your free gift is ready). They are made and kept on your device by iOS; nothing is sent to us or anyone else, and there are no push notifications from a server. You can turn them off in the Game's Settings or in your device's Settings.

2. Purchases

In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details, name or Apple Account. Apple tells the Game only which item was bought, so it can be delivered and restored. See Apple's privacy policy.

3. Ads

The Game shows ads through Unity LevelPlay (Unity Technologies) and the ad networks it works with. Ads are non-personalized and family-friendly for every player, whatever their age:

To deliver and count ads, and to prevent fraud, the ad partners may automatically receive limited technical information:

They may not use it to build a profile of you or to target ads. See Unity's privacy policy (unity.com/legal/privacy-policy).

4. Children

The Game is made for a general audience and isn't directed to children under 13. Because younger players may still find it, we built it so that it collects no personal information from anyone, and gives every player the same protections it would give a child: no accounts, no advertising ID, and only non-personalized, family-friendly ads. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child's personal information was collected through the Game, contact us through our contact form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfzYh0taPFtLswArd1W4gulhT-uNSY4kqaznFZXW0hH7K_5aw/viewform) and we will take steps to delete it.

5. Sharing and selling

We don't sell or share personal information. The Game doesn't collect any, and what you send through the contact form is used only to reply to you. The limited technical information in section 3 goes only to our ad partners, for ads, measurement and fraud prevention.

6. If you contact us

Our contact form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfzYh0taPFtLswArd1W4gulhT-uNSY4kqaznFZXW0hH7K_5aw/viewform) asks for an email address so we can reply, and your message. We use them only to answer you, never for marketing, and we don't sell or share them. We delete them once your question is resolved, unless we need to keep them for a legal reason (for example, a dispute). The form is run for us by Google (Google Forms, in our Google Workspace account), which stores the messages on our behalf. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you; if we learn we've received a message from a child under 13, we use it only to reply once and then delete it.

7. Keeping and deleting data

Progress stays on your device until you delete the Game. We hold no copy. Bug reports you send are deleted automatically after 90 days; to have one deleted sooner, send us its report number through the contact form. To delete everything, delete the Game (and, if iCloud saving is on, its data in iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud).

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Virginia, the EU or the UK), you may have the right to know, access, correct or delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because we hold none, there is usually nothing to provide. You can still contact us through our contact form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfzYh0taPFtLswArd1W4gulhT-uNSY4kqaznFZXW0hH7K_5aw/viewform) and we'll help, including with any request about the ad partners.

9. Security

The Game stores data only on your device and in Apple's systems, which are protected by Apple's security. Messages sent through the contact form are kept in our Google Workspace account, protected by Google's security.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, show a notice in the Game.
