Local Keys

Refunds and cancelling

Local Keys is sold through Apple's App Store, so Apple handles all payments and refunds. We can't see your payment details and can't send refunds ourselves — but here's how to get one, and how we can help.

Try it first

Local Keys is free to try: the keyboard, dictation inside the app, and a weekly allowance of keyboard dictation all work without paying. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Please check that it works well on your iPhone before you buy.

Ask Apple for a refund

  1. In Local Keys, go to Settings › Help, Feedback & Legal › Request a Refund, and choose a reason. Or
  2. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find Local Keys, and choose "Request a refund".

Apple reviews each request and usually replies within a few days. If Apple approves it, Pro switches off on your devices.

If the App doesn't work on your iPhone

Tell us through the contact form (Settings › Help, Feedback & Legal › Send Feedback) and request a refund from Apple as above. When Apple asks us about a refund request, we may tell Apple that the App wasn't working for you — for example if a problem report shows it crashing.

Cancel a subscription

Go to your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Local Keys and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

Free trial

If you start the free trial and don't want to pay, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You won't be charged, and you can keep using the trial until it ends.

Founders Lifetime

A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment with no renewals. Refund requests go to Apple the same way.

Changed devices?

Tap Restore Purchases on the new device, signed in with the same Apple Account. Pro comes back at no charge.
